The North Carolina Science Festival, produced by Morehead Planetarium and Science Center and presented by Biogen, is expanding its annual timeframe to span the month of April, starting in 2018.
Students taking part in the Plant Pathways Elucidation Project (P2EP) internship program will experience a dynamic summer of science at the N.C. Research Campus (NCRC), a 350-acre life sciences hub in Kannapolis.
As part of the North Carolina Science Festival at UNC Charlotte, there will be several opportunities for students of all ages to participate in different workshops during the month of April. Registration for workshops opens at the end of February.
What is STEM? It’s the acronym for science, technology, engineering and mathematics. But while kindergarten through 12th grade education usually focuses on science or mathematics in isolation, all four of these disciplines are closely intertwined in the real world. Imagine if K-12 students were taught in ways that highlighted these connections, making their education more relevant to their lives and opening doors to new and exciting careers.
